Night kick-sled tour in Estonia, Taevaskoja
For evening rides in the darkness, the sledges are equipped with lanterns that illuminate the snowy forest paths, trees, and sandstone outcrops. The light creates a romantic atmosphere and a sense of mystery.
We glide along the snowy forest trails, listening to the tall trees crackling in the cold. The tour guide takes us to the old mill bridge at Otten, to the cave of Neitsikoobas, and to drink the miraculous water from Emalätte. We also share ancient stories about the land and the world. Along the way, we will pass the famous Suur Taevaskoda (Great Heavens Hall) and Väike Taevaskoda (Small Heavens Hall).
If conditions allow, we will slide across the ice of Lake Saesaare and admire the sandstone outcrops that are at risk of being destroyed along its shores—Oosemägi, Kindapäkamägi, and Kivipalumägi. This area is known for love stories that perfectly complement the magic of the evening light.

The kick-sled was used on ice and snowy tracks in the Nordic countries long time ago. Fun sledding is gaining popularity again. Now even competitions are organized. The sledging is considered a winter sport.
We have both, sporty modern sleds and retro sleds, with a seat, that you saw used by your grandmother tens of years ago. With such a so-called old-school sled, even the smallest members of the family can join the tour. The hike is easy and children from the age of 9 can handle sled independently. Grandmothers and grandfathers are also welcomed to participate and feel the nostalgic atmosphere.
We arrange kick-sled hikes on Estonian frozen lakes and snowy hiking trails. The tour is led by a hiking guide who makes all participants ride the sled professionally and tells interesting stories of nature and culture along the way.
